Curious Lamp
carlmhbarenbrug: Norwegian designer Caroline Olsson who is currently based in Oslo, has designed the strikingly simple and compact Curious lamp. The LED lamp, made from birch wood and spray painted aluminium, can be opened up to make it brighter or folded down, where the light will luminate through an opening in the wood. Thought about posting something about ‘going back to’ my old Opeth CDs, but honestly it happens frequently enough that it’s hardly worth it.

I think I’ve developed a case of ‘cleaner’s elbow’

Woke up to find a text from Alex informing me that his press pass for Standon Calling festival has an unexpected plus-one and inviting me to use it. After work I checked trains leaving today, which were prohibitively expensive. I’m leaving tomorrow instead, but I’m sort of glad because it means I’ve not had to rush and I’ve been able to prepare properly. I’ll also be...

I also encountered a Chinese take-away called ‘wok this way’ and, more impressively, a beauty salon called ‘curl up and dye’. I think that I’ve seen another ‘wok this way’ before, but...

I actually really resent all the self-described noise-rock fans who listen to Holy Fuck or whatever and have never even heard of Wolf Eyes. I know it sounds elitist and I don’t like to be resentful, but do yourselves a favour and try harder, guys. If you’re going to waste your time attaching yourself to a genre at least find out what it means.
