Kat persuaded me to look at Ikea’s range of lamps before committing to spending more money buying one from elsewhere as discussed in my earlier post. Most of them just look as cheap and flimsy as the prices would suggest but the GLOBAL work lamp pictured above looks more robust and for £13.99 (plus postage) it is fairly aesthetically pleasing. The clamp is a plus too.

Apparently the UK dance music underground has had a “recent fascination with acid house”. I’m such a trend-setter. This mix is really good despite it all being old hat to me by now (!) Looking forward to seeing Blawan live in Sheffield if I can get the time off work next week. I’m currently trying to find a new desk lamp because my current one is broken and now that the nights are drawing in, working past 6pm without one is no doubt doing irreparable damage to my eyes. Ideally I would like one which can clamp onto the shelf above my desk and angle down but I’m willing to compromise. As long as the base is compact enough it could stand on said shelf but I can...

so until today I didn’t use the Tumblr Google Chrome extension very much and when I did it was only for browsing my dash. The reason is that I didn’t know that one could tag posts in the extension in the ‘advanced’ tab and I thought that everything I posted from the extension would require being tagged at a later date on the actual tumblr site anyway. Now my ignorance has...

Big congratulations to Phil G for winning the individual UCI World Tour series and to Omega-Pharma Lotto for winning the team classification. I suspect Phil is one of my favourite cyclists for the same reason that he won the series, i.e. because he’s fucking ace at what he does. I liked Omega Pharma-Lotto for other reasons, however, including their versatility and lack of specialisation in...
